Radiant New York Beauty variation This table runner evolved from Mom's Kitties. Originally, the radiant New York beauty blocks were to be intermixed with the kitty blocks. However, with the blocks up on the design wall it looked way too busy and the business of the radiant blocks detracted from the simpler cat blocks. So I pulled all the radiant blocks out. After much re-arranging, I've come up with this on-point layout for a table runner. I'm still short two 8 inch radiant blocks to complete this layout and I have 4 four inch blocks left over. Creating the radiant blocks was quite a learning process with regard to figuring out where to place the various fabrics. This was kind of an experiment for me, and as such, I did not spend a lot of time planning blocks - I put together fabrics I liked and sewed the blocks. You could do very interesting things if you planned each of the blocks and the overall layout ahead of time, but I'll leave that for a future project.
