Circular Shrug

Pattern from Craftster
Handpaintedyarn.com Ejido 160, Shells bp, 5 skeins
Knit on size 8 24" circulars

Originally, I thought I might use this to make a poncho, but I wasn't sure how the color would play out. Then I saw the Circular Shrug and thought it would be appropriate. The yarn is very soft. It does smell like vinegar as some previous purchasers mentioned, but that doesn't bother me a bit.

When I did the swatch I was too lazy to figure out how to do mock rib and it just didn't look correct to me. I re-swatched in stockinette and ended up casting on 160 stitches. I love watching the color play out and I'm looking forward to the (almost) instant gratification of such a quick knit.

Update: after seaming the sides I tried the shrug on and it is extremely poofy at the upper back. I don't think any amount of blocking could solve the problem so I'll be frogging this. Maybe I could make a one skein wonder with a longer sleeve?
