Richard's Stuff...

Hunting Elk in Idaho, 2004
Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation
On the way to Wyoming everyone stopped at RMEF's Wildlife Visitor Center in Missoula, Montana.
Scenery and Terrain
The terrain was steep and rugged. Some areas were too steep to ride to and others you could ride to, but had to walk the horses back down.
Camp
The camp didn't look too bad until the rain turned everything to mud. Two hunters shared each white tent. The big blue tent is the cook tent.
Horses and Mules
There were a total of 46 horses and mules. The ride from trailhead to camp took anywhere from 2-3 hours depending on weather conditions and the speed of the pack animals.
Trailhead
See what the group looked like before departure and their (mostly) triumphant return.

What is Richard up to?

Richard has recently returned from hunting elk in Idaho. He didn't return with an elk, but he did have a good time.

If you're confused about the references to Idaho and Wyoming that's because the hunt was in Idaho, but the nearest town was in Wyoming.

If you were on the hunt and would like a copy of any or all of these pictures, I can zip them up for you to download or I can burn them to a CD or DVD. There are more pictures that I did not include on the website because they were too similar to the ones that are included. Also, the images that I can zip or burn to CD are high quality for printing purposes (the ones on the website are not meant for printing). Email me.
